Council failed to consult properly over communal bins10.10.50pm GMT Tue 23rd Mar 2004
Lib Dem Councillors Dawn Davidson (Regency) and Paul Elgood (Brunswick & Adelaide) have given evidence to the Communal Bins Scrutiny Panel, tasked with investigating the consultation over the introduction of the pilot. Councillor Davidson, whose scrutiny request initiated the investigation said: 'Residents have been increasingly aggrieved by what they perceived was a totally inadequate and flawed consultation process.' Councillor Elgood said: 'The council failed to undertake any kind of meaningful consultation. It meant we were always working blind, never sure of where residents either supported or opposed the pilot.'
