Lib Dems Survey Brighton & Hove's Rail Users1.06.58pm UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 5th Nov 2003
Liberal Democrats have been out surveying commuters this week at the city's main rail stations. The local survey is part of a larger survey of 20,000 rail users across the South East Region co-ordinated by Lib Dem MEP Chris Huhne. Brighton Pavilion Lib Dem campaigner Kevin Donnelly said: "The Liberal Democrats have consistently argued for investment in improved rail services and for investment to be used more effectively." "Labour promised that public transport would improve but after six years, road congestion is worse than ever and the rail service does not appear to have improved much if at all." "Lib Dems nationally and locally believe rail services are in a worse state, less reliable and anything but value for money since Labour came to power. We are keen to hear local rail users' views."
