Liberal Democrats have launched a campaign to abolish the Council Tax. The Lib Dem call comes at the same time as a warning that Brighton and Hove's Council Tax is likely to see another number figure rise this year.

Cllr Paul Elgood said:

"The prediction of another massive increase is bad news for residents, particularly those who live on fixed incomes. Council Tax is an unfair tax and should be replaced with a system that reflects a person's ability to pay. It is a highly regressive tax hitting those least able to afford it the most."
