Reacting to the publication of the city's draft Tall Building strategy, Lib Dem Councillors have expressed concern that the city's skyline could be irreversibly altered for generations to come with key strategic views lost.

City Council Lib Dem Leader, Paul Elgood said:

"There are sites where taller building might be acceptable, however this strategy gives the open door to mass disproportional development whilst there are still too many brown field sites in the city which urgently need development. For developers it is a license to print money."

Regency Councillor Dawn Davidson said:

"We are concerned that the policy of clusters of tall buildings could lead to the vast over-development of sites, ruining views and changing the look of the city for generations to come."
