Lib Dems Welcome Hove Library Backdown

Following an intense lobbying campaign by Hove residents, the council's Labour minority administration have delayed the decision over the future of Hove Library whilst an all-party working group is established to discuss the plans further.

Welcoming the news, Lib Dem City Council Group Leader, Paul Elgood said:

"This is the right course of action. Hove residents have let the council know clearly know they want their Library to remain where it is. The news that this decision is being postponed is welcome. We now need a proper period of public consultation and discussion before it goes any further."

"Liberal Democrats have made their position clear against any move and will continue to pursue this for residents."
